Junior Catholic Daughters of the Americas (JCDA)
Both of the Nevada JCDA courts were officially instituted during prior Day of Recollection Lenten Retreats. Any Catholic girl between the ages of 6 and 17 who would love to meet new friends and enjoy fun activities related to the Catholic faith and to serve God can join the JCDA. The purpose of JCDA is to develop a stronger faith and spiritual growth, to encourage praying the rosary, to learn the compassion of our Blessed Mother, to promote personal growth through creative projects, to visit resident homes during the holiday and to participate in events benefiting local charities.
The Court under the guidance of Our Lady of the Rosary, Court #2226 at Holy Family Catholic Church, chose St. Mother Theresa of Calcutta as their name and patroness, has been active for over two years. Kathie Light is their adviser.
The Court under the guidance of Our Lady of the Valley, Court #2118 at St. Viator Catholic Community, chose St. Therese of the Child Jesus as their name and patroness, has been active for over 11 years. Lourdes Caeg is the adviser. Her assistant is Marie Slife.
