Scholarship Program

The Nevada State Court offers two one-time scholarships each year to one graduating 8th grade Catholic girl who will attend Bishop Manogue High School in Northern Nevada and one who will attend either Bishop Gorman High School or Cristo Rey  St. Viator College Preparatory High School in Southern Nevada. A $500.00 check will be made out to the respective high school to be credited to the recipient’s account.

Northern Nevada Scholarship Winner 

Madeline Liddi of Reno, Nevada is the latest recipient of the Nevada State Court Education Scholarship. Madeline was recognized for her Academic and Community Service achievements by Our Lady of Carson Valley, Court #2132 Regent, Pam Petersen at her graduation from St. Theresa of Avila Catholic School. Madeline will be entering Bishop Manogue High School this fall. Congratulation Madeline!

2019 Southern Nevada Scholarship Winner

Way to go! Genesis Ponce was the winner of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Nevada State Court Education Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to a young lady who has excelled in Academics and Community Service. Genesis and her family joined the Catholic Daughters to help celebrate the National CDA Day in October. Congratulations, Genesis, and we wish you the best of luck as you enter Cristo Rey St. Viator College Preparatory High School.

Congratulations to the spring 2019 scholarship recipient from Northern Nevada, Julianna Flores. She will be attending Bishop Manogue High School in Reno in the fall of 2019.

The Northern Nevada scholarship will be available again in the spring of 2020. Information and details to be announced in January, 2020.

Coming Fall 2019

The Nevada State Court will award the Southern Nevada scholarship at the National CDA Day celebration breakfast on October 20, 2019. The recipient must be a Catholic girl who will start the fall  2019 semester as a freshman at either Bishop Gorman High School or Cristo Rey St. Viator College Preparatory High School in Las Vegas. Applications may be submitted by email or regular mail from September 1st through October 1, 2019.

Application requirements:

Cover Sheet which includes applicant’s Name, Phone Number and Email and name of school she will be attending in fall 2019 i.e. Bishop Gorman or Cristo Rey.

Resume of applicant’s academic and extra-curricular activities/accomplishments.

Two letters of recommendation from non-family members, i.e. a coach, teacher, minister or adult friend of the family.

Letter from parish where applicant’s family is registered verifying their registration.

A 250-500 word essay, the applicant’s original work, double-spaced and typed on one of the following themes:

 “Blessed are the Peacemakers”

or

“Living in Harmony with Others”

National CDA Scholarships

National Education Contest

The National Education Contest enables students from Grade 4 to Grade 12 of our communities to compete under the Categories of Art, Essay, Poetry, and Photography. First place winners at the local level and then the state level are forwarded to the National Court for final judging. A monetary prize is awarded to winners of the National Contest. Finalists will then be announced at the National Convention.
